Summer Activities

Thanks to the work and dedication to the Sport of Biking from Arjeplog’ Mountain Bike Club (MTB Arjeplog), we have a lot of marked and even prepared biking trails around Arjeplog. For all those who love to explore a bigger part of nature.

you can find all the trails accessible with mountain bike.

Arjeplog even has its own Down-Hill Lane, located on Öberget, for all those who seek more excitement. 

On an area of 14.500 km2, the Arjeplog Kommun has almost 9000 Lakes, including Sweden’s deepest Lake Hornavan as well as Uddejaur and Tjeggelvas. Three big rivers cross the area – Skellefteälven, Piteälven and Laisälven.

This creates the most perfect environment for fishing!

Arctic Char, Brown Trout, Grayling, and Salmon as well as Perch and Pike can be caught in these Waters.

Go out with friends or on your own and feel the tranquility of sliding through the water in a kayak. 

The minimum age for rental withou adults is 16. If adults are with this is 12 years of age.
You need to be able to swimm at least 200m!!
Paddles, sprayskirt and lifevest are included. If wanted one can rent waterproof bags.

A discgolf area with 16 “holes” on a beatuiful nature course. Only 8 minutes from our Hotel by car at the Åsarna Forest Basecamp.

The Discgolf course is open throuhgout the summer (as soon as the snow is gone)

Note: You need your own frisbees (possible to buy at XL Bygg here in Arjeplog!)

There are no Restrooms!

During the Winter, these northern athletes love nothing more than pulling Tourists through the Winter- wonderland on sleds. But in Summer, it is way too warm for that and ... well ... there is no snow. So, what to do? How about visiting one of the Husky Farms around Arjeplog to cuddle the dogs and especially the puppies that are born during the Spring. And why not go on a guided hike with them, feel their power as they assist you hike up the hills, while enjoying Lapland’s Nature.

Arjeplogs Kommun has plenty of beautiful hiking possibilities thanks to its surrounding mountains. But also, in Arjeplog itself, you can find some beautiful and easy hiking trails to spend the day in nature. Arjeplogs Vaukaleden for example, offers an easy marked and prepared trail that is suitable even for wheelchair users. The Island stretch at Rapatsjärn offers marked hiking paths along the sandy beaches of the Lake Hornavan and the mountain Akkelis gives you an amazing few after just a short hike above the tree line.
